THE PROCESS

How it Works

truMRK provides independent, pre-publication reviews of sustainability communications. Our structured process strengthens evidence, clarity and transparency before content goes public.

1. Submit Your Draft

Provide your final draft sustainability report or related communication for independent pre-publication review.

Reviewing content before it goes public allows time to strengthen substantiation, improve transparency and address potential greenwashing or disclosure risks, without the pressure of post-public correction.

2. Review and Recommendations

We carry out a structured, evidence-based review of your draft across claim substantiation, responsible language, and contextual credibility.

This includes evaluating the strength of supporting evidence, the completeness of disclosure on material issues, and alignment with current regulatory and best practice guidance.

You receive a comprehensive findings report outlining areas of strength, potential greenwashing risk, structural gaps, and clear recommendations to enhance transparency and resilience before publication.

Learn more about our assessment methodology here.

3. Revise and Finalise

Following our independent assessment, you may implement the recommended changes to address identified risks, improve transparency and strengthen evidential support.

The revised draft is then resubmitted for confirmation review, ensuring your final published report reflects the highest possible standard of credible communication.

4. Report and Publication

Every review results in a formal truMRK Transparency Report, setting out assessment scores, identified strengths and recommended improvements.

Organisations may choose to publish the Transparency Report and display the truMRK Verified Badge as a visible sign of independent scrutiny, or retain the report as an internal benchmarking tool to support continuous improvement.
